ROAR – which stands for Rejoice! Organize! Activate! Reclaim! (presented by @univsettlement) hosted over 200 hours of FREE activities, classes, programs, workshops, workouts, live performances, concerts & more for all ages! 

We brought much needed joy, light & love to the Lower East Side’s Sara D Roosevelt Park on Rivington & Forsyth Streets. Every weekend throughout the summer in 2022, with University Settlement and dozens of community partners. 

Curated by our Founder, Myles, the ROAR! Resource Fair Closing Ceremonies brought over 25 different organizations together for the purpose of engaging and unifying our Lower East Side community members..

Saturday August 27th at SDR Park from 12pm-5pm - Afterparty held at @raysbarnyc 177 Chrystie St from 6-9pm. For the day's itinerary see below:

• 12pm FREE CONCERT - Traditional Chinese Music performed by Mencius Society for the Arts + Arts & Crafts w/ @_fabnyc + ROAR Resource Fair • Meet & Greet & Get Involved! w/over 20 amazing Orgs representing inside the ROAR SDR Playground - listed below.
• 12pm-1:15pm CONBODY Community CleanUp & City Scavenger Hunt w/ @nyccleanvolunteers 🚮🗑 Prizes from @jadiswinebar @thefreestoreproject & more! Free Pizza provided by Two Boots Pizza NYC
• 1pm FORTUNE LION DANCE FREE PERFORMANCE! 
• 1:30pm “Leave Your Mark” 🪩 ❤️LOVETRAIN HOUR w/ @lovetrain111 Free Arts & crafts provided by @_fabnyc
•  Speeches from NYC Parks Coalition, M'finda Kalunga Garden's Deborah Glass, Myles of The Free Store Project & NYC District 1 Councilman Christopher Marte 
• 2pm FREE LIVE PERFORMANCE by Movement of the People 
•  3pm FREE CONCERT Pinc Louds!!! + Young Authors Kid’s Storytelling w/ Yuko @untapped_storytellers
•  4pm DANCE PARTY w/ DJ Isaac Hindin-Miller @isaaclikes_ followed by 6-9pm 
• ROAR WITH RAYS!  • Afterparty 177 Chrystie St from 6-9pm. Live tattoos by @sophiebeetattoos . Designs include ROAR images + beloved AAPI symbols and staples.
